Gas For Good

GAS - I was at my office recently when a strong smell of gas came into the building. My office is at a building at the Burlington international airport and there’s a hanger full of planes adjacent to my office. Many of the planes in the hanger are in the hanger because they are in need of repair – hence the smell of gasoline – or airplane fuel to be more specific. Strong smell. Nauseating. It’s a very important substance when it comes to flying a plane, but in my office that day, it was very unpleasant.

At one point in his life, Joseph ended up in a pit because his jealous brothers threw him in there. Something tells me that pit may not have smelled very good. But Joseph would tell you it was for good. After ending up in the pit, then being sold into slavery, then being put in prison, Joseph’s declaration to the brothers he forgave was God sent me here to preserve life (Genesis 45:5).

We can’t always see what God is up to. We can find it difficult, at times, to comprehend that what He is doing is for our good, for our benefit, to preserve life. But we can trust Him at His word. Romans 8:28 He works all together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. This is a topic I’ve talked about often lately…. Not sure why….. be blessed.
