INDOOR SWING – I came home from work recently and found some narrow cloths hanging from the loft in our house. They were hanging from the loft in between the kitchen and dining area. My daughters couldn’t wait to show me why they had hung these clothes there.
As I watched, my daughter sat down on the cloth and began to swing. Then she stood, putting her feet in some stirrups they had created and swung some more, spun around and did a split. Quite creative. When I asked what made them do this I was informed they set up this swinging contraption because it was raining outside and they wanted to play inside.
How do we react to the rain in our lives? Do we sit and mope, looking at the rain, at our situation and feel sorry for ourselves? Or do we take a different approach?
1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Nowhere in scripture does it say we should sit and wallow in our difficulty – in a raining season.. We should look to the love and God and rejoice, realizing that is his will for us in Christ.
